Excellent article. Presents the law itself as well as implications.

Heat and Temperature

The First Law of Thermodynamics

The Second Law of Thermodynamics and Heat Engines

The Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics states that if two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with a third, then all three objects are in thermal equilibrium with each other. Although it seems pretty basic, the Zeroth Law is fundamental to the other Laws of Thermodynamics because it is the basis for the concept of temperature. The reason for the name 'Zeroth' is because it logically precedes the 1st Law of Thermodynamics (governing conservation of energy in thermodynamic systems) and the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (governing the spontaneity of thermodynamic changes).
