The next step in glycolysis is cleavage of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to form dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. Dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate are constitutional isomers whose interconversion occurs via keto-enol tautomerism. In glycolysis this is facilitated by triose phosphate isomerase. Keto-enol tautomerism. That needs to make sense to you.
